ITE grading scale
ITE publishes one grading table for Higher Nitec and Nitec courses in Services and Technology. Unlike the polytechnics, there are no half-point grades:

Modules assessed on a Pass/Fail basis show P or F with no grade points and are left out of the GPA.
How ITE calculates GPA
ITE defines GPA as "the ratio of total grade points earned to total credits attempted to date" — the same credit-weighted average the polytechnics use, running cumulatively across your course.
GPA = Σ (Grade point × Credits) ÷ Σ Credits
Worked example
A Nitec student with five graded modules:

GPA = 58.0 ÷ 18 = 3.22
GPA 3.22 — above the 3.0 mark for Year-2 entry to Higher Nitec. Because ITE grades jump in whole points, one grade band is worth a full 1.0 on a single module.
ITE GPA thresholds for progression
Your ITE GPA is the gate to the next qualification. The published thresholds:

The AY2027 change raises the poly entry bar to 2.5 but adds a guaranteed pathway for the roughly top 10% of Higher Nitec graduates (about 1,000 students a year) who reach 3.5.
Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP)
N(A)-Level students on the DPP go straight into a Higher Nitec course and, on meeting the required Higher Nitec GPA, are guaranteed a place in a mapped polytechnic diploma. For Engineering and ICT courses the qualifying GPA is 2.5 for Year 1 and 3.5 for Year 2 entry. MOE's DPP pages carry the current course mapping.
ITE results and Director's List
ITE publishes semester assessment dates on its "Important Dates to Note" page rather than in the grading regulations. ITE recognises top graduates on a Director's List at graduation (recent lists feature 4.0-GPA graduates), but the qualifying criteria are not published on ite.edu.sg.

What GPA do you need to go from ITE to poly?
A net GPA of at least 2.0 for Year-1 entry today, rising to 2.5 from AY2027. Higher Nitec graduates with 3.5 and above can enter Year 2 of mapped Engineering/IT diplomas, and from AY2027 a 3.5 guarantees a place in a mapped poly course.
Is 3.0 a good GPA in ITE?
Yes. A 3.0 clears the bar for Year-2 (advanced standing) entry to Higher Nitec and comfortably exceeds the polytechnic Year-1 entry threshold. The guaranteed-poly pathway from AY2027 requires 3.5.
Does NGP count in the ITE GPA?
Yes — a Non-Graded Pass is worth 1.0 grade points, the same as a D. It is also the maximum grade for any module where attendance falls below 50%.
Is the ITE GPA scale the same as polytechnic GPA?
Both top out at 4.0, but ITE awards whole points only (A 4, B 3, C 2, D 1) while polytechnics use half-point steps (B+ 3.5, C+ 2.5, D+ 1.5). See the SP grading system for comparison.
